The event – open to both JA Members and non-members – will offer an insider’s perspective on the laws and regulations that affect jewelry businesses. Jewelers of America’s D.C.-based legislative counsel, Haake Fetzer will host the Town Hall-style format on hot topics including sales tax fairness – with legislation recently reintroduced in the House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate – jewelry-related regulations, and the proposed 20% tax hike on imports that could be part of comprehensive tax reform.

New York, NY – Jewelers of America (JA), the national trade association for businesses serving the fine jewelry marketplace, is offering its renowned Sales and Management Professional Certification exams on March 13, 2017 at the Jacob Javits Center during the JA New York Show. Certifications are open to all jewelry professionals with no studying required as the exams validate existing skills and knowledge. Jewelers of America established the Professional Certification program in the late 1990s with the goal of raising the level of professionalism throughout the jewelry industry. In 2016, 70 jewelry professionals completed JA Professional Certification, for a lifetime total of over 650.
