Jewelers of America, the Jewelers Vigilance Committee and the Women’s Jewelry Association joined 90 other retail industry trade groups in signing a National Retail Federation letter to the White House urging the Trump Administration to protect public health and minimize the economic impact of the coronavirus pandemic. Other similar communications have also been sent to the Department of the Treasury and Congress.

New York, NY – Jewelers of America (JA), the national trade association for businesses serving the fine jewelry marketplace, and Jewelers Board of Trade (JBT), the member-owned association that delivers commercial credit information and unbiased data on thousands of jewelers, have released the 2019 Retail Jewelers Benchmarking Study, a financial benchmarking tool. The data, based on 2018 financial information, was collected from retail jewelers across the United States using an online survey platform powered by Dynamic Benchmarking.

New York, NY – Jewelers of America (JA), the national trade association for businesses serving the fine jewelry marketplace, announced the results from the consumer marketing test-campaign that ran in Los Angeles, CA, from September 23, 2019 – November 3, 2019. “Another Piece of Your Story” was an industry-wide collaboration to increase consumer desire for jewelry by connecting consumers to the emotional aspects of jewelry ownership. Over 3,000,000 unique consumers were reached during the short, six week test campaign.

The Convention, with a theme of 2020: Envision, unites Jewelers of America members for impactful presentations and discussions that look to the future of the jewelry retail marketplace.

New York, NY – Jewelers of America (JA), the national trade association for businesses serving the fine jewelry marketplace, held the Jewelers of America National Convention, an education-focused executive forum open to jewelry professionals, on July 28-29, 2019, at the InterContinental New York Barclay in New York City. The Convention featured four dynamic keynote speakers, thought provoking breakout sessions, an informative Diamond Detection Lab and interactive Retail Innovation Lab. Attendees came from across the country and around the globe to take part in the inaugural event.

New York, NY – Jewelers of America (JA), the national trade association for businesses serving the fine jewelry marketplace, has elected Holly Wesche, owner of Wesche Jewelers in Melbourne, FL, as Board Chair. She succeeds John Henne, of Henne Jewelers in Pittsburgh, PA. Wesche was elected on July 30, 2019 at Jewelers of America’s Board meeting that also welcomed new Directors.

Jewelers of America (JA) is breaking ground with its first National Convention. A trade association dedicated to serving the fine jewelry marketplace, JA is at the forefront of conversations related to responsible business standards. Advocating for independent jewelers, JA’s upcoming program will delve deeply into what is happening in Washington D.C. By bringing leading experts into the room, Jewelers of America is creating a transparent conversation, preparing retailers for happenings on the Hill that could affect their businesses. From July 28-29th, jewelry professionals from around the country will gather at the InterContinental New York Barclay Hotel to focus on steering retail businesses towards growth, while maintaining the ethical standards of membership.

New York, NY – For the ninth consecutive year, Jewelers of America members met with key lawmakers to discuss trade and tax concerns during its annual advocacy visit to Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, June 19. As in past years, the delegation was led by the Jewelers of America Political Action Committee (JAPAC) . The delegation met with a number of key lawmakers and congressional staff – including Senator Tom Cotton (R-AK), who met with the group for dinner.

New York, NY – Jewelers of America (JA), the national trade association for businesses serving the fine jewelry marketplace, has announced a partnership with MJM Global, a provider of reliable insurance for all types of commercial and personal risk to the jewelry industry, to offer access to health care option for its Retail and Supplier Member companies. Through this partnership, JA Members now have access to a simplified enrollment process and affordable health care plans for as few as two individuals.
