The Convention will take place July 28-29, 2019, in New York City.

Jewelers for Children announced it will honor David Bonaparte, President & CEO of Jewelers of America, and Judy Fisher, Senior Vice President of Reed's Jewelers, at their annual Facets of Hope event in Las Vegas on June 2, 2019. The gala celebrates JFC's fundraising efforts and their commitments to its charity partners. As the evening's honorees, Bonaparte and Fisher will assist JFC in raising additional funds during the event.

New York, NY – Jewelers of America (JA), the national trade association for businesses serving the fine jewelry marketplace, has announced the association will be coordinating the launch of a consumer marketing program in 2019. The campaign will be an industry-wide collaboration to increase consumer desire for jewelry and drive jewelry sales by promoting the unique and emotional aspects of jewelry ownership versus other disposable income purchases.

New York, NY – Jewelers of America (JA), the national trade association for businesses serving the fine jewelry marketplace, has announced the hire of two industry consultants to enhance two of JA’s core priorities : membership and consumer marketing. Elizabeth Brewer will assist JA’s dynamic membership department to enhance membership engagement with its robust retail membership base. Mark Smelzer is assisting in the strategic development of a Consumer Marketing Initiative that will launch in early 2019.

New York, NY – Jewelers of America (JA), the national trade association for businesses serving the fine jewelry marketplace, elected three industry leaders to its Board of Directors at its biannual Board meeting in New York on July 16. The new directors elected to a three year term are Chad Berg of Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry, David Bouffard of Signet Jewelers, and Camile Hannoush of Hannoush Jewelers.

New York, NY – The Jewelers of America Political Action Committee (JAPAC) led a delegation of jewelers to Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, June 20, for the eighth consecutive year. The group met with lawmakers less than 24 hours before the U.S. Supreme Court announced a key decision on sales tax fairness, overturning the Quill decision that established the current system under which states are prohibited from collecting sales taxes from sellers that do not have a physical presence in-state, clearing the way for sales tax fairness to be established.

New York, NY – Jewelers of America (JA) applauds the decision by the United States Supreme Court to uphold South Dakota’s sales tax fairness law and overturn the 1992 decision in Quill Corp. v. North Dakota. By a vote of 5-4, the Court struck down the earlier judgement, which established the current system under which states are prohibited from collecting sales and use taxes from sellers that do not have a physical presence in-state that led to the current uneven playing field between traditional and online sellers. The decision will enable states to pass laws that require remote retailers to collect sales tax, even if they do not have a physical presence in the state.

He succeeds Norman Miller, who served as the GEM Awards Committee Chair from 2014 – 2018.
