New York, NY – Jewelers of America (JA), the national trade association for businesses serving the fine jewelry marketplace, and National Jeweler, the must-read news source for jewelry professionals, have launched a survey on diversity and racial inequities. The survey looks to better understand the experiences of and opportunities for Black Americans in the fine jewelry industry.

“We refuse to let the momentum for change slow down. We want this survey to be another stepping stone to help everyone in the jewelry industry understand how and where they can champion diversity, equity and inclusivity. It is critically important that everyone take this survey,” says National Jeweler Editor-in-Chief Michelle Graff.

The survey is open to all individuals working in the jewelry industry for companies based in the United States. The suvery focuses on hiring practices, inclusion policies and how racial discrimination is handled. The survey is for employers and employees, and the answers are completely anonymous.

“It is extremely important that the jewelry industry continues to push for diversity, inclusion and equity. The first step is to collect and analyze the data so we can not only understand the challenges and key areas where change is needed, but also be fully transparent and hold each other accountable to rally our efforts and actually make changes,” says JA President & CEO David J. Bonaparte.

The survey is open until October 7, 2020. All employers are asked to share the survey link with their employees. All answers are completely anonymous. The survey is available here: https://www.research.net/r/diversity-jewelry
