Thank you for your interest in our program, which provides jewelry businesses with the tools needed to choose, hire, and train apprentice bench jewelers. The MJSA Mentor & Apprenticeship Program is available free of charge to all JA members. If you are not a member and would like to learn more about the kit and its requirements, please contact Rich Youmans at 800.223.0673, rich.youmans@mjsa.org.
Please fill out the registration form below to receive the following:
1. A free digital copy of the MJSA book A Jeweler’s Guide to Apprenticeships by Nanz Aalund, which offers insights into all aspects of setting up a training program in the shop.
2. The MJSA Mentor & Apprentice Training Program Training Package, which includes a detailed, step-by-step curriculum based on a 50-week, 40hr/workweek calendar; assessment tests that can help with apprentice selection; and a list of industry suppliers (all trusted JA members) that can help with any equipment and supplies you need to bring on an apprentice. Several of the suppliers offer discounts to program participants.
3. Access to the Online Resource Library of curated videos and downloads to supplement the apprentice’s in-shop training.
4. Mentor Support resources to help you bring out the best in the apprentice. The MJSA Education Foundation team also offers individual consultations to ensure you get maximum value from the program.
