Inspired early by blacksmiths and tinsmiths at a living history museum, Chris Ploof turned his love of metalworking and tinkering into an award-winning jewelry studio renowned for innovative designs and the use of uncommon materials (meteorite, Damascus steel, mokume gane). He’s received multiple awards from the Santa Fe Symposium for his research into jewelry-making techniques, including experiments with the centuries-old ornamental rose engine.
