Hardness (As-Cast) (HV)
• Dwell for 15-20 minutes (after casting, before quenching): N/A
• No dwell (less than 3 minutes): 80 HV
Hardness (70% Cold-Work) (HV)
• Fully annealed (dead-soft) before cold working: N/A
• As-cast before cold working: 80 HV
• Torch annealed before cold working: N/A
Hardness (Age-Hardened) (HV)
• Two-step age hardness:
If material is in a hardened state, you must anneal at 1200°F (649°C), quench to black heat, heat to 600°F (315°C) for one hour, and let air cool completely.
• Single-step age hardness:
If material is already soft, heat to 600°F (315°C) for one hour, let air cool completely.
