Melting Temperature Range
Solidus: 1,558°F (848°C)
Liquidus: 1,653°F (900°C)
Hardness (As-Cast) (HV)
• Dwell for 15-20 minutes (after casting, before quenching): 55-60 HV
• No dwell (less than 3 minutes): 50 HV (susceptible to thermal shock cracking)
Hardness (70% Cold-Work) (HV)
• Fully annealed (dead-soft) before cold working: 40-45 HV
• As-cast before cold working: 55-60 HV
• Torch annealed before cold working: 45-50 HV
Hardness (Age-Hardened) (HV)
• Two-step age hardness: 110-120 HV
First step: Heat to 1,292°F (700°C), wait 30 seconds, and quench in water.
Second step: Heat to 608°F (320°C), hold for 30 minutes in the furnace, and air cool.
• Single-step age hardness: 70-80 HV
Heat to 1,202°F (650°C), hold for 10 minutes in the furnace, and air cool.

Quenching Guidelines
To avoid cracking the casting, a minimum of 25 minutes wait time is recommended before quenching. The precise time depends on the size of the flask and the amount of metal used in casting.
Special Tips for Working with Alloy
Cooler metal temperatures with higher flask temperatures are the best parameters for investment casting. The ideal metal casting temperature is in the range of 1,652°F to 1,832°F (900°C to 1,000°C) with a flask temperature of about 1,202°F to 1,238°F (650°C to 670°C).
