As communities – from local to global – are faced with the health and economic challenges of the current COVID-19 outbreak, Jewelers of America has pulled together important information and steps that your business can take to protect your staff, customers and community. These are taken primarily from the Center for Disease Controls and Prevention (CDC) Interim Guidance for Businesses and Employers, which is based on information that is known at this time.
The ground regarding the local, state and federal response to the COVID-19 pandemic is shifting on a constant basis. We’re all in this together as we deal with major changes and disruptions to our work and personal lives. Jewelers of America will continue to provide updates and info on resources you can turn to during these uncertain times.

Jewelers of America Action
Jewelers of America is dedicated to the integrity and prosperity of the jewelry industry. During this difficult time, we are working hard to aid in business recovery and protection to ensure the industry comes out of this crisis stronger. Here is what we have been doing:
- Created this Coronavirus Resource Guide on jewelers.org
- Sending weekly email updates related to COVID-19 to members
- Put together an ongoing “Coronavirus Outbreak” series of webinars available to members
- Created an action alert so that jewelers can easily get in touch with lawmakers to push for more COVID-19 relief
- Working with other industry leaders to put together comprehensive solutions and build current data on the jewelry industry
- Co-signed a letter from the National Retail Federation, urging policymakers to consider proposals that protect and preserve the economic health of the retail workforce. This includes providing enough liquidity for small, medium and large-scale businesses to remain viable through the crisis. Read the letter here
- Mailed a letter to Congressional leaders on both sides of the aisle and the Trump administration on behalf of our members, urging the government to act and protect retailers as more and more businesses are forced to close due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Read the letter to President Trump here
- Thoroughly dissecting the Economic Stimulus Package and how it affects retailers. Read about the Package here
- Our trade publication, National Jeweler, is publishing consistent coverage of the coronavirus impact on the jewelry industry. Read through their articles here
- Offering complimentary membership for new Jewelers of America Members
