One of the most effective ways a jeweler can build their store's name & image is by reaching out to the community. JA has created opportunities for members to interact with the general public outside their establishment, creating valuable name recognition among those who are not aware of their store and reinforcing an existing image among those who are.

Order Tiaras - Members Only: 3 Free/Yr
The JA Tiara Program helps retailers connect with their local community and generate non-commercial publicity. Through the program, individual stores may donate tiaras to fairs, pageants, parades, homecomings and other local events. Members are entitled to three free tiaras each year, per store for event donation. When donating a tiara, jewelers interact with the public outside their establishment, spreading invaluable world-of-mouth advertising. Tiara recipients may keep their crown as their achievement memento.

Each tiara is made to order in one of three sizes: small, medium or large. Members may order additional tiaras for $20, $33 or $40, respectively. Please allow 30 days advance notice for timely delivery. We assess a $10.00 expedited shipping fee to all orders placed less than 30 days in advance.

Seminars for Community Outreach

The JA Community Outreach Program helps members support their community by offering educational seminars and consumer-oriented presentations at schools, clubs, societies and other relevant organizations. Members have access to kits for two different seminars: Jewelry Styles and Influences: From the Greco Roman Period to Present; and A Guide to Buying and Caring for Fine Jewelry.

Both seminars are easy-to-use, turnkey presentations for hosting by anyone with a strong jewelry background. Each is easily customizable to last 30 to 60 minutes in duration, dependant on need. Each kit includes seminar notes, graphics (slides or Microsoft PowerPoint), attendee handouts and a well-defined marketing strategy to drive attendees to your store.

JA offers each seminar through a lending program to members at no cost. We require a fully refundable deposit of $75 and 10-day advance notice. The full dollar amount is refunded after all seminar materials are returned by their due date. Participating members have 21 days to return materials in order to avoid assessment of a $10 per week late fee, debited from the deposit.

"Why Is A Ruby Red" - Children's Presentation

"Why Is a Ruby Red?" is a 90-minute children's presentation, easily divided into several shorter segments, for staging at schools, libraries or clubs. Anyone with a strong jewelry background can lead. It's an insightful and entertaining class ideal for a 3rd or 4th grade audience, grabbing a child's attention, generating interest, fostering learning and helping children understand and appreciate earth science and jewelry while fostering business advertising.

The "Why Is a Ruby Red?" kit includes one detailed seminar guide (available on CD only), 15 student activity workbooks and suggestions on ways to publicize the event. The kit is available for FREE - and exclusively to JA members. Activity books cannot be reused, developed for distribution to each student. Members may order additional workbooks for $1.50 each. The presentation also calls for a few basic, reusable school supplies for student activities, not included.
